Full Rolling Stock Guide The EKR possesses a large collection of heritage rolling stock, as well as the EPB Preservation Group with their collection of vintage Southern Region electric trains.

STEAM LOCOMOTIVES

Avonside 0-6-0 'St Dunstan'
Built: Works No.2004 of 1927.
Information / History: Worked at Snowdown Colliery. When withdrawn it was moved to Sellindge. Arrived at the EKR in 1992.

Status: Awaiting full restoration, estimated cost £45,000 - £50,000

DIESEL LOCOMOTIVES

09025 (D4113)
Built:Horwich 1962 - 350hp Class 09
Information / History: Worked at Selhurst Depot prior to disposal. Once unoffically(?) named 'Victory'. Arrived at EKR September 2005. See www.epbpg.co.uk for more details

Status: In service periodically throughout the year.
Used for many years as a Station Pilot at Brighton, alongside classmate 09026.

Ruston& Hornsby Type LSSH 0-6-0Dh No.427 'The Buffs' & '9th Field Squadron Royal Engineers'
Built: Works no.466616 of 1961.
Information / History: Paxman 275hp engine. Arrived at the EKR in September 1991.
Owned by: Trust of Georges Dussart,Clive Wallace,Ron Norris & Graham Collins. Status: Repairs in progress to return to service. Army green livery.
Trial runs are underway.

Fowler 0-4-0DM 'Snowdown'
Built: Leeds, works no.416002 of 1952.
Information / History: Worked at the nearby colliery at Snowdown as a yard shunter. Arrived at EKR in April 1990.
Owned by: A.Larkins.
Status: In traffic, although lack of train brakes means the loco cannot pull trains.

English Electric 0-6-0DH 'Richborough Castle'
Built: Works no.D1197.
Information / History: 6-Cylinder 380hp turbo-charged Dorman engine. Worked at Rawdon Colliery in Nottinghamshire until 1984. Arrived at EKR in November 1990.
Owned by: EKR.
Status: Returned to service late 2009

Class 101 DMU comprising of the following vehicles:

Built: Metro-Cammel, 1957.
History: Bought from Angel Trains in August 2003 and delivered from storage at MOD Shoeburyness. Arrived at EKR in November 2003.
Owned by: EKR.
Status: In use to run train services throughout the year. Painted in BR Blue
No.54343 (DTSL from set 101660)
Built: Metro-Cammel, 1957.
History: Bought from Angel Trains in August 2003 and delivered from storage at MOD Shoeburyness. Arrived at EKR in November 2003.
Owned by: EKR.
Status: In use to run train services throughout the year. In BR Blue
Full repaint completed March 2009

Class 205 DEMU (MBS S60100 and DT S60800, original unit number 1101)
Built: At Eastleigh on Ashford-built underframes in 1957.
Information / History: Purchased from Porterbrook Leasing and previously used on London Bridge - Uckfield services.
Owned by: EKR
Status: Currently out of service. Work is required including replacing all windows and mirrors and refitting of one second-class compartment which had been converted for carrying bicycles and luggage. Will be original unit number 1101 and repainted into original livery as time permits.
Status : Cosmetic restoration begun in May 2009
