Originally i was not going to be at trhe railway yesterday due to work commitments and then when asked to help by Ken (JEFF HAD NO PHONE) to fill in one of the staffing gaps for yesterday I then got my shift swapped one and i am so thankful that i had done.

Then Speaking to Tim just before the weekend I had said to him that I was really unsure about the event after the recent down falls of Bus Rally in the last couple of years.

I can now safely say i was totally wrong. The whole day was very busy with full trains as well as buses between Dover Transport Museum and us at Eythorne.

As always many thanks go to the staff who have done great in helping out over the day, staff of Dover Transport Museum, Tim Upcroft and Dave Atkins, but most importantly everyone must remember the beggist thankyou goes the the members of the public that made the day so successfull

One last this that makes me feel so proud about yesterday was one great comment (of many) and i hereby quote "what a great event, this has been so well organised" and staff this one is for you and again i quote "all the staff are very wsell commited and have done a great job"

This is just to confirm that the start of 2009 has been an enormous success. The passenger takings have doubled on last years already. Lets hope that this success can continue onwards to make 2009 the most successfull year yet.

yes I thought it was a good weekend and obviously things need to be altered for next year as you would expect from any new event- most noticeably finishing clearing the knees . Also less trade stalls and more engineers.

Firstly I should begin at congratulating everyone that has helped out in making the 4days of the easter celebration fantastic. Many great comments have been said at the railway either in person or in the comments book in visitors centre.

Secondly, it has become official that the weekend was the most succussful easter weekend the railway has ever provided.

Ron,Gill , Georges,Alan coe , Wilf ,Ron's brother did most of the work for the toilet wagon so i will pass on your thanks accordingly - it is certainly a huge improvement and hopefully the start of many good things for Eythorne .

words cannot express what we all feel about these vandals and i will pass these comments onto the committee about possibly installing cctv for Eythorne - something definately needs to be done .It is particularly dis-heartening for yourself and the rest of the Thursday Gang who quite frankly do a superb job keeping Eythorne looking great. As a word of encouragement can I pass onto you the thanks from all the committee for the scrub clearance you have undertaken alongside the track opening up views to the field from Eythorne Station . Hope to see you down there soon . I hope to form a working party with you early next year to bring the signal box back to glory and any other jobs you would like to undertake at Eythorne .
