Thank you for visiting our site, we hope that you find it both interesting and informative.
The Railway is run solely by volunteers to preserve the last remaining part of the Kent Coalfields and trains currently run from Shepherdswell to Eythorne (a round trip of 4 miles).
On most special event days trains will also run on the Wigmore Lane extension. The Railway is also home to the EPB group who preserve and restore Southern Region electric trains and their website can be found via the links page.
Please see our and pages for details of all train times and of events throughout the year.
We have a free membership facility for the website, which includes the ability to post on our forum and receive email updates. Joining is easy and only takes a couple of minutes, you can join by clicking 'join' in the top right of the screen.
If you wish to become a paying member of the EKR it will entitle you to receive the railway's quarterly magazine the "EKR News" and also to join the volunteers on site helping bring the East Kent Railway back to life.
